If there are 1 million people in Washington DC this weekend there'll be 1 million shots exactly like this. The Cherry Blossoms are so beautiful, captivating with a very slight fragrance, so fragile and so oriental. Everyone I spoke to had a smile on their face. The grass is green, the small animals are people acclimated and it's nice not to have to wear a jacket.

Lovely photo. I have a shot of my parents in pretty much that same spot.
Guest 09-Apr-2005 02:20
Thank you! I've never seen these in person. But I know they are
beautiful, so glad you captured this. I agree with Dennis on the Jefferson Memorial too.

It's a good thing you didn't take my advice and come last weekend. It rained all day Friday and Saturday, and there were 50mph (cold) winds on Sunday -- and the blossoms weren't out. I spent Sunday from 0500 to noon pretty much at that very spot, and I'm still thawing out. This is a great shot, especially your keeping the TJ Memorial in soft focus (rather than entirely out of focus, which happens with most people's shots.
