About a week ago I saw a goose floating on a pond, with its head and neck laid out straight on the water. It didn't move at all during the 5 minutes or so I watched. I thought it was dead. Tonight, at the same pond, I saw the goose in a similar position, and again thought it was dead. But after a couple of minutes it raised its head, and my spirits soared! But in a few minutes, it laid down again. It's mate is sitting on a nest nearby, so is this a sick goose, or a tired one?
