Frank B. Baird was a late 19th and early 20th century industrialist, having developed and organized the Hanna Furnace Co., Buffalo Union Furnace Co., and the Tonawanda Iron Co.
Mr. Baird was one of the driving forces in the conception, planning, and building of the Peace Bridge.
Mr. Baird was also generous with the University of Buffalo; the original Baird Hall is named for him.
