This used to be Gina's back in the mid-60s,a coffee shop.Used to stop in after school to hang out with a few high school friends.The auto repair shop next door was a collision shop back then.I worked at a car wash next to that(summer of 63 maybe 64)

For a while in the late 80's I used to hang out at the Essex. I dated one of the waitresses for a while. I used to close the place often and sometimes one of the bartenders and I would stay after hours playing darts and partying until the sun came up. The somewhat infamous owner, Peter Goretti, was an acquaintance of mine from back in my underage days of the late 70's. I have always been partial to pubs where I could get Guinness on tap. I also had rented some shop space in the old foundry (originally an ice house) at the Griffith's complex just down the street. I had gone to high school with Simon Griffith and he had dated my sister for a while. This site brings back so many memories of the good old bad old days even though I was about ten years behind Karl!
