I don't think I ever saw the front of McCarthy's building as I was sent there on Fridays as a kid to pick up their great & greasy fishfrys and being underage, was always told to enter via the side door. Weather in California may be great but nothing can compare with Buffalo's Friday nite fishfrys. I can still smell the french fry grease, the cigarette smoke and the Schaefer beer.

McCarthy's is a true Irish Pub. D'Arcy Magee's can't copy the interior, but this pub is truely Irish. It's located in a rough area of old Industrial buildings and railroad tracks. However, McCarthy's is still one of the top bars of choice for Buffalo Police, Buffalo Fire, and politicians.
