Watson Branch

514 South Park Ave. Buffalo

This library is special to me; it was my neighborhood library. The librarians there encouraged and pushed me, always recommending books to me. They instilled a love of reading, and changed my life. It closed in August 1976, thirteen years after I left the neighborhood.

I worked here for five years, from 1971 to 1976, under the wonderful Mrs. Erna Hall. I've been a librarian for more than 35 years, but every now and then, I have a dream that the folks in Buffalo ask me to move back to the old neighborhood and re-open the Watson Branch.

I also enjoyed this Library, just a few doors down from school. St Val's
I do miss the old neighborhood and the good old days of the OLD First Ward.
