Engine 15 had been quartered in this general area since the inception of the all paid fire service. Engine 15's quarters as depicted here was actually duplicated in two still active station houses. Engine 34 on Main Street and Engine 36 on Elmwood Avenue. Engine 15 served the Black Rock area until the late 1970's when she met the budget axe. Most notably this was the worst decision made because once again a company that served a vital area was closed. Think of if Engine 15 were still open. It would protect the Thruway which is a stone throw away, not to mention the Niagara Street corridor. At least she has preserved with honor.
