Searching For 66 by Tom Teague

I bought this book many years ago, intending to drive 66 "someday." The book sat on my bookshelves through the years, and now that I'm getting serious about driving 66, having the time, money and health, it was time to read it. Many books are available to guide you along the entire route, offering the "how" of traveling 66. Mr. Teague has done a monumental job in explaining the "why" of such a trip. What a great read! It's the kind of book that you don't want to end. But end it does, and there will probably not be any followups, sadly, as Mr. Teague has passed. My life has been enriched by his writing. He has, through his writing, encouraged me to drive 66, sooner than later. And as I finished the book, I looked at the title page, and somehow, he had signed my copy. I will cherish it forever.
