Norfolk & Southern 1218 is a Class A , 2-6-6-4 steam locomotive built in 1943, and was one of 43 built. It was retired in 1959, and put on static display. It was restored in 1987, and ran excursions until 1992. Stored until 2003, when it was placed in the Virginia Museum of Transportation.
