Yellow-crowned Parakeet (Kakariki)

Ulva Island, New Zealand-1641

Yellow-crowned Parakeet is endemic to New Zealand, it is uncommon and is restricted to the large forests of the mainlands, but if you spend time to find him it will be well worth the effort. The Maori name is Kakariki which means green.
