Brown Mountain Lights

These are the pages of a book I found at my grandmothers.
The Brown Mountain Lights. A phenomena that goes on about
a 100 miles from my house. Ive seen them and also had the pleasure
to talk to the wife of Scott Wismeman who wrote the song
"The Brown Mountain Lights" which are in this book !
Author is Ralph L. Lael published in 1965

The author Ralph Lael is my grandfather. I have been trying to find a copy for years. I would like to buy that book or get a copy somehow. It is an important family heirloom although I doubt it has any real value to anyone else.

Thank you for sharing this book. I grew up in Morganton and saw the lights many times. It was part of one of my Dad's favorite activities- driving around the mountains he loved. We'd stop on the way up Hwy 181 and buy a chunk of bologna and loaf of bread and stop at Wiseman's View. There were big boulders there we sat on to eat. We'd pull on jackets as the sun set and wait. We didn't see them EVERY time, but often.
