John Cale is one of the most influential musicians and producers in popular music. He was a founding member of the mythical New York band VELVET UNDERGROUND with Lou Reed, but has never been an artist attracted by the limelight. I happened to have seen him some 30 years ago in Paris, and again, this afternoon, Nov 26th, a few blocks away from my home, at Amoeba's music store, where he played an acoustic set for free.
