The Taiwan Railways Administration purchased the Steam Locomotive LDK58 from Hitachi in 1928. It was served in Hualien until 1982. The LDK58 is in narrow gauge (762 mm).
The Railcar behind LDK58 is Diesel Railcar LDR2201. The Taiwan built LDR2201 was served in Taitung Line from 1957 to 1982 before the gauge of Taitung Line was converted from 762 mm to 1067 mm.
This railcar was equipped with a Cummins diesel engine. The maximum speed was 70 km hour.
