The clocktower is located at the west square of the station. It was erected in 1983. It is a monument in memory of Dr. Langdon Warner (1881-1955). Dr. Warner was a scholar in ancient Japanese arts and culture field. In World War II, he paid much effort to avoid the damage in three ancient cities, they are Kyoto, Nara and Kamakura.
