Total 1,535 vehicles of Series 101 EMU were built from 1957 to 1969. In this class of EMU, there are four sets of door at each side of cabin. The maximum speed is 100 km/ hour.
The last remaining trains were withdrawn in November 2003. This is the only one preserved train of Series 101 EMU. It was built in 1957, the serial number is Kumoha 101 902.
