The Monument is located at Dam Square and in front of the Palace. It was officially revealed by Her Majesty The Queen Juliana of the Netherlands on 4th May, 1956.
A national Remembrance of the Dead (Dodenherdenking) ceremony is held at here on every 4th May to commemorate the casualties of World War II and subsequent armed conflicts
