In 19th Century, all milk cattle of Dairy Farm were imported from Europe. Many of these cattle failed to adapt the hot and humid environment in Hong Kong.
Therefore the farm designed this special octagonal shape for improving ventilation and decreasing the indoor temperature.
Now, one of this two cowsheds were converted as an exhibition and reception hall and the other one is a small theatre for seminars, film screenings and functions.
