It was built in 1899. The surrounded arched verandah is one of the characteristics of this building. The arched verandah is quite common in many British colonial building, especially in the buildings located in tropical or subtropical region.
The Old Ping Shan Police Station is located at the top of a hill. It is a strategic location for defensive purpose and the policemen was easier to monitor villagers.
