Well, today we didn't fish much. The day started out seriously cloudy, so we took the boat over to Cherokee Sound to check out the flats there. I did eventually get a decent shot (wading, because the water was too skinny to get the boat close enough) at a couple of big tailing fish, but they melted off without tasting my artificial offering. So, zero fish on a short day two; we knock off after a couple of hours. The NFL Conference finals are being played today.
This a view from the beach at Casuarina Point looking due South toward Duck Cay, a small uninhabited cay. There is a good bonefish flat on the other side of the deeper channel visible in the middle of the photo. One could easily swim the channel, particularly at low tide. If fishing without a boat, however, I guess this means carrying your rod in your teeth and your gear in your hat :-)
