These guys used to be called "Whistling" Swans. They look a lot like the much rarer Trumpeter Swans. There were quite a few of these majestic birds around, as well as the usual complement of geese... not so many ducks. We got our usual number of shots away at passing bluebills and buffleheads, and our usual number of misses. Only one bunch of mallards got anywhere near our blind, and we missed those too. A trip to the trap range would be in order.
