Every four years or so, the Beech Tree forests of the South Island go to seed, which leads to a big jump in the food supply for the mice, which in turn produce large numbers of offspring, which in turn provide big protein pellets for carnivorous brown trout :) I tried this fly for awhile, without any takers...
