Day dawns sunny and calm, and within a half hour off Highway #7, we're into an 8 lb. plus fatso in a pool on the Boyle. Unlike the athletic fish of the Clarence, tho, this big brown kind of just flops over into the current like a boot. An encouraging start, anyhow, and indeed we spy a couple more customers later on, but they prove to be of the nervous persuasion. Try the dryfly mouse pattern today (nadda)! Later in the p.m., heavy rain from out of nowhere --- a quick check up to the first pool on the Doubtful, a rugged little creek that apparently has some nice pools higher up.
