The alternate route was beautiful. We had sunshine, no rain or snow, traffic was light, the air was clear and there were lots of wildflowers to greet us along the way. Many still had raindrops on their leaves and petals from the previous night's rainfall. Streams were full and beautiful. White clouds filled the sky.
