Corrales Cranes and Geese

These images all are from Corrales - many from my front yard. Albuquerque photographers are lucky to have the Rio Grande corridor to access a wide variety of wildlife. Sandhill cranes are certainly one of our premier subjects. The grace and timeless beauty of their flight compels one to take far too many shots. And then there's the irresistible urge to write a Haiku poem afterwards. It's a thrill to have these birds so close to home. Having Bosque del Apache NWR close is nice, but shooting from the front yard is sweet, especially on cold, brisk mornings, where nearby heat and a hot cup of coffee can be quickly found.
