Circular Quay, Sydney, is
just a short walk (probably about 300 metres) east of the southern end of the
Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House sits on the eastern shore of
Circular Quay which was called Sydney Cove when Captain Arthur Philip
formally declared possession of New South Wales on 26 January 1788.
