in 1950 there were,
according to NSW Government statistics, 32,000 vehs/day using the
bridge. In 2001 159,597 vehs/day were recorded, and around 158,000
in 2011. Today, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the tunnel, (which was
opened in 1992) carries approximately 43,000,000 vehicles per annum.
Update on Bridge tolls; apparently; There is time-of-day tolling, with a
charge of $4 in peak hour, and I think, $2.50 in off peak, $3 in shoulder.
Collecting the Sydney Harbour Bridge toll appears to be a lucrative business.
