Frenchman-Henri Laurens, worked
as a stonemason before turning his hand to sculpture. He was influenced by
Auguste Rodin and later became interested in the cubist style after meeting
Pablo Picasso and other Cubists. His 1937 La Musicienne (bronze) stands
in the Tuileries gardens (adjoining Place de la Concorde), Paris for all to see.


