Not the Tropic of Capricorn. Tue 16.

the “Tropic of Capricorn” sign
in yesterday’s almost daily email is beside the road about an hour south
of Exmouth, Western Australia. I am not sure of its exact latitude but it
appears to have been in the same spot for some years (there is no sign
that it has been moved recently). The sign in todays’ photo, which is on
the floor of the Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach, Queensland,
is, like the sign in WA, not moving anywhere either. In fact the sign on
the floor was never on the latitude of the Tropic of Capricorn! I stated my
surprise (that the Tropic actually runs through the museum) to our tour guide
who explained that “no, the tropic was over on the other side of the highway”.

C U on the email, keith 
