the Archibald fountain, properly known as the J.F. Archibald Memorial Fountain by Francois Sicard.
Archibald, a part owner of The Bulletin, bequeathed funds to have it built to commemorate
the association of Australia and France in the Great War (1914-1918).
It was unveiled on March 1932 by the Lord Mayor of Sydney S. Walter.
