I wish you would remove the two pictures of my fire house from your site. The comparision is not even correct since the fire house shown in the inset picture is of a totally different building...your 'before' picture is Fire House # 1! I'm not sure what your point was in making this comparision but, you need to know that the #2 fire house would have been a thing of the past had it not been for my intervention in halting the plan to bulldoze it back in the late '90's.
The finger pointing is not appreciated. If the guys who used to call base 'home', feel a need to show how much they care by showing examples of how 'those people who came later on' are disgracing the spirit of this old base...maybe they could do more than snap some pics as they drive by. How about lending a hand if the old-timers cared so much? This fire house is being maintained as best I can with the limited resources I have. It's a big building and things are fixed in order of priority for the good of the whole building. I'd love to restore the front into looking like it did in it's day. Donations to that cause would be welcomed and put to use on just that.
