On the third day of the main ceremony, they took down the small altar in the far end of the room and started constructing a much bigger one, across one of the windows. It consisted of a frame of bamboo, fastened to the wall and then covered by layers of bamboo paper. Then it was adorned by many colourful strips of paper with chinese characters written on them.
