The new pics (other than the first two on the bed) are of Max at 17 weeks. He's growing like a weed. He's already 10 pounds, according to his last vet appointment this last weekend, when he got his first rabies shot. Lucy was 11 pounds when she passed (at 11 years) and he's 10 pounds at 17 weeks. He's going to be a big boy.
I'm keeping him on the leash inside the house during training. His obedience training is going well. We go every Saturday at 1:00. He has a classmate, Sophie, who is a 10-week old Golden Retriever. They're approximately the same size, but that won't last long. I figure by the end of the 8 weeks of class, she'll be almost double his size. She was a little timid the first week of class and Max, well, he's fairly assertive (to put it mildly). By the end of the first class, she was coming after him, surprising her parents. The instructor said he's a surprisingly quick study and has an impressive attention span. I told her that if you had food in your hand, you can keep his attention for as long as you want.
Hope you enjoy watching the boy grow. He's enjoying growing. -k
Cute dog! But aren't all doxies cute???? My girl is 8 months old and has the attention span of a toddler. She is full grown at 9 pounds and her obediance training is going so so and food only holds her attention as long as nothing else distracts her. Doxies rule! Congrats on your new baby, Jan's friend Cheryl
