Max

Max in the newest addition to our family. He's a dappled Dachshund. My beloved Lucy passed away on September 1st, 2007 and is missed terribly. The pitter patter of four little paws needed to be heard in the house, so a search was done and I found Max, who is, well, you will see, adorable. He's full of personality and is lion-hearted. You'll see from the photos below that he was ready to attack something (my feet under the coffee table). His previous owner says he should grow to about 15 pounds. In trying to figure out what he looked like, it finally came to me. I had a calico cat once named MJ who had markings much like his.

I decided I would adopt 2 puppies and name them Max and Sam, after the boys. The oldest son came with me to pick him up, therefore, Max carries his name. We are so glad to have him. Many more pictures will follow, I'm sure.

For those who didn't know the story of Max and Sam: when I was carrying the boys, we called them Max and Sam after their father's grandfathers, and ultimately named them, in the Hebrew tradition, after those same men. Their secular names did not turn out to be Max and Sam, for whatever reason, but I always liked those names, so here they are. Whether Sam turns out to be a boy or a girl, 'tis fine. My uncle Sam named his daughter Sammie, who named her son Samuel Ryan, and so on.

Have fun. -kdsg
