Bravo Martin! you get a round of e-applause for the correct answer :) I thought it would be more difficult to guess, but it is indeed Monte Palace Tropical Garden - and for me, the most interesting among the many gardens near Funchal (thanks to its location, variety, getting there by teleferico, oriental accents, azulejo displays, and the museum of minerals)
