A weekend in a houseboat on the Columbia River was quite interesting. Located on a side channel off of the main river, the water was relatively calm.
You could canoe upstream between the other houses, and ducks would follow you.
But passing motor boats would actually rock the house, which was a bit disconcerting.
It was a wonderful place to visit, but I'm not sure I could live there long term -- which is probably why the owner
made the home available as a rental, and had another timeshare property in on land in Arizona.
