This was really an experiment for me, in removing and replacing the original background. The original photo featured a plaid swing chair, and Evan's sister, and I wanted the focus on just Evan in his cute hat.

Steps included first multiplying the original photo, since it was slightly over-exposed and touching up the face a little. Then I first selected the background and filled with black, and tried posterization...but felt that was too dark. I then further erased the plaid chair, and replaced the background with varying pastels--white, peach, and pink. He is also slightly tilted more vertically. I also experimented with a less clean profile, and a little texture due to glowing edges, in order to simulate a chalky, oil painting, but didn't quite achieve the look of a Marie Cassat! Still learning....
