I was aboard Missouri from 1988-1990. There was a "rite of initiation" among gunner's mates and invited guests whereas the elect crawled down the barrel of a 16" gun while "encouragement" came from both the breach and the muzzle. I went through the center gun, Turret 1, which is the barrel on the left in your picture. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
