Talk about a bumpy ride. Several of the streets in
Charleston are cobblestone. The stones were brought
over in the old days as ballist in the ships. Once in
Charleston it was unloaded allowing the ships to return
to Europe with cargo. The stones left behind were
used to "pave" the roads.
