One has to wonder when I see so many abandoned homes ...
albeit they are quite old ... if this wasn't the first
signs of the economic crisis that the US and the rest
of the world is facing today.

Homes like these dot the countryside all over the south.

What happened that allowed people to allow these homes
to get into such disrepair and subsequently abandon them.
