There were many of these abandoned structures
throughout the Carolinas. I'm guessing that they
were old tobacco drying barns.

It is interesting to note that North Carolina
still allows smoking in some restaurants and public
areas. I was somewhat surprised considering the hazards
of second hand smoke.
