Reach

I really do think I need to get out some legs and a longer lens here. Using the 24-70 for macros just doesn't seem to be cutting it. Dontcha love the way I blame this soft pic on the lens? More than likely movement on my part. That plus the fact that I mistakenly rotated this twice.

Hi Andrew. Really like how the bokeh works in the total composition of this photo. If this is soft, it is nicely soft and works with the background in an artistic way. So fret not! Now, as far as the lens goes, it is quite capable of giving you a sharp macro focus. A couple of rules to consider. When shooting a macro and you want it sharp, 1) use a tripod 2) stop down and 3) increase your shutter speed... turn up iso if necessary (your 5d will give you great macros up to iso 800). All my best, Michael.
