Cathedral

From the brochure:
" In the 10th century, a small chapel in honour of the Virgin was already situated where the present Cathedral of Our Lady is now located. (...) This is were between 1350 and 1520, the largest Gothic church in the Low Countries was constructed."

Despite the long period of construction, this masterpiece of Brabant Gothic style is a homogeneous momument thanks to the succession of remarkable architects. The 121 meters high tower holds a 'beiaard', a carillion with 47 bells that is used for performances of typical carillion as well as modern music, for example at the popular 'beiaardconcerten' on Mondays in the summer from 8 to 9 pm.
