Estonian winter is snowy from December to March, thou it can still be dim and grey as daylight is limited to 5-6 hours near Christmas. As Spring approaches, the Sun shows its pale face more often and those crisp winter days are worth waiting for. Probably there is something more rewarding, but for the Norseman a lazy windless Sunday morning when its just cold enough to feel a slight pinch on your cheeks and nose tops it all. After heading out for a cross-country skilap either in powder snow or on a dedicated ski-track you return home to enjoy tar-flavoured tea or hot wine.
