great blue heron. hunting for a fish

Babbcock-Webb Wildlife Area near N. Ft. Myers in Florida

...I watched this great blue heron fish for over an hour today...
the lake this bird was fishing in is a borrow pit and it has been
designed to mimic a natural lake, though it lacks many aquatics, such as alligator flag
or arrowhead, that would give a "real" feel...

I love the way it kind of blends in with the grass. They're such cool birds and very shy and hard to capture.
