Bronx Zoo aka Love for the Red Panda

Kim, Jeannie and I spent an afternoon at the Bronx Zoo, but didn't manage our time well. So we spent a good deal of time at the Red Pandas because they are so cool, and didn't get to see the lions or elephants at all, but the Red Pandas were so awesome, it's understandable I think. I took about 400 pictures in total, about 100 of which where of the red pandas...
Of course I also learned an important photography lesson: no matter how good your lens glass is, when you put cages and baby-hand-smeared glass in between your lens and the animal, your pictues aren't going to be super sharp.
Also, I am proud to say that three people suffered minor injuries as a result of hitting my camera, including a small child whose head met all three pounds of my new lens up close.
A baby blesbok aka bontebok. A Cheetah marking its territory. Cheetahs. The colobus monkeys were sleepy.
A weird looking animal, the okapi. An enormous python in a very dark room. Wolf's monkeys. They started up a little mating action soon afterwards, much to the dismay of the small children. A new baby gorilla and his mommy (presumably).
More gorilla baby and mom. I wanna say this was a blind monkey owl, but somehow that doesn't seem right. It was cool though. The always classic bald eagle. So patriotic.
Cool bird. Good ole flamingo. Scarlet ibis. I actually decreased the saturation on this one, believe it or not. Grumpy bird.
A sleepy bird. Could these be the famous gay penguins of the Bronx Zoo? A big buck and, perhaps, his children. Tiger!
Polar bear, probably a little hot. Colbert's enemy, the grizzly. Grizzly at play. Grizzlies.
More grizzlies. Sleepy grizzly. Snow leopard. RED PANDA TIME!
The waddling fat one that was running around while the one in the tree ate. Such an awesome animal. More red panda. More red panda.
Even more red panda. Yes, I took a lot of pictures of the red panda. He saw the keeper walk in, became transfixed. So cool.
I guess I felt I had to make up for the last time I saw a red panda, when I took only one picture. One more... Okay, last one, really. An escaping peacock.
Completely escaped now...
