thanks, i was using a 420EX on camera, AV mode, partial metering. I forgot exact FEC number, probably -1 1/3, or so. The black background helps as well in this case. Good luck.

jxsq: What type of flash you used on this picture? How many of them? are they on camara or off camrea and triggered? I assume you took this picture with available light + fill, right? Sure like to know how to create this beautiful lighting and experiment with your configuration. Thanks.
thanks. it is important to ensure that flash is used as 'fill light'. Usually I reduce the flash strength by 1-1.5 stops.
