Yellowstone National Park - June, 2007

June in Yellowstone is springtime and spring means babies. We saw hundreds of baby bison, baby elk and even some bear cubs. All the animals were in the process of shedding their heavy winter coats and so many looked quite scruffy. With overcast skies and rain often dulling their colors, the thermal features were not nearly as impressive as in 2005. However, with the animals stealing the show, Yellowstone did not disappoint.

Our 2007 side trip to Grand Teton National Park was the exact opposite of 2005. In 2005, rain and low clouds made for an unexciting visit. That changed dramatically in 2007 as clear blue skies allowed the Tetons to shine. So much so that I have given them their own sub gallery.
