One morning on our way out into the field we saw this group of women wading out into the river together with sacks and baskets of laundry. They washed their linens right in the river and laid them out to dry on the sand bar. It was a nice local scene telling of a dramatically different way of life. Part of why we travel to new locations is to take in the local color, so we do enjoy these experiences along the way, in addition to the incredibly amazing diversity of wildlife to be found in Ecuador.
