Violet-tailed Sylph

Tandayapa

This is one of two species of sylphs we were lucky enough to find in Ecuador. We managed to photograph several different individuals. You may notice that some of them have longer tails than others. When they fan those glowing violet tails in the sunlight it is simply breathtaking.
