Ipidecla schausi

We found this fabulous little butter hanging out on a leaf right outside the balcony of our hotel room in Gomez Farias. Note, the range map in Glassberg's "A Swift Guide to the Butterflies of Mexico and Central America" does not quite range far enough north to include Tamaulipas and Gomez Farias. We corresponded with Mr. Glassberg about this observation, and he has modified the range map per this new state record for this species in Tamaulipas.
